Admission criteria for all applicants

Candidates who meet our general entrance criteria are eligible for admission to most of our undergraduate programs. However, certain programs have additional specific entrance requirements. To fulfill our general entrance criteria, you need to:

You must meet the following eligibility criteria to register:

1. Be at least 17 years old by September of the registration year.
2. Possess either:

  • 3 GCE A-levels at grades EED or above; or
  • 2 GCE A-levels at grade E or above plus 3 GCSE/GCE O-levels at grade C or above in different subjects; or
  •  2 GCE A-levels at grade E or above plus 2 GCE AS-levels at grade D or above in different subjects.

3. Have GCSE/GCE O-levels English at grade C or above, or have successfully completed a recognized English proficiency test within the past 3 years.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

International students seeking admission to the university must demonstrate proficiency in the English language.

We recognize the following tests as valid proof of English language proficiency.

Achieving a TOEFL score of 580 or higher, in addition to scoring 4.5 or above on the Test of Written English, is required.

Achieve a score of 6.0 or higher in the IELTS exam.

To meet the requirement for the Pearson Test of English (Academic), you need to achieve a score of 54 or higher.

You must have achieved at least Level C1 in the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.

Creating an Application

For Local Students

UniSey was established with the sole aim of expanding higher education options for students in the local community. We have designed our procedures specifically to cater to your requirements. To begin, please follow the steps outlined below.

Please complete and submit the application form along with a non-refundable application processing fee of SCR 250. Additionally, include a copy of your identification card or passport. You must also provide a curriculum vitae, three passport-sized photographs, certified copies of your certificates by the Seychelles Qualification Authority, and, if applicable, a completed scholarship application form.

Once you finish filling out the form, kindly forward it to the Student Registration & Admission Office (contact information provided below).

UniSey will send an email to acknowledge receipt of all application forms, ensuring that applicants receive timely notification of admission decisions. We will provide feedback on non-admission decisions to all applicants so they can reapply as needed.

If you haven’t heard back about your application status after six weeks or if you require further information about our course offerings, please reach out to the Student Registration & Admission Office at your campus.

Applying to UniSey

APPLICATION FORMS

Please download the application form for international students or send a request for an application form to registrationofficer@unisey.ac.sc.

Please ensure that you submit your applications well ahead of the deadline.

All applications require a non-refundable application processing fee of USD 75. Additionally, University of London programmes entail an extra non-refundable application processing fee of USD 205.

Please follow these steps when you submit your application:

  • Please fill out the application form completely and send a scanned copy, along with scanned copies of the required documents, to registrationofficer@unisey.ac.sc.
  • Additionally, mail a hard copy of the application form and the original or certified copies of the listed documents to the following address:

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

Please ensure you submit the following documents with your application form. We cannot process applications that are missing any required documents. If your official documents are not in English, they must be accompanied by an English translation issued by a school official or a translation agency accredited in your country of origin.

Please provide the following documents for your application:

1. Confirmation of application fee payment.
2. Original academic certificates or certified copies.
3. A copy of your passport’s data page, displaying your name, passport number, and photograph. If you do not possess a passport, please submit another identity document. Ensure you apply for a passport promptly if planning to travel to Seychelles.
4. Three passport-sized photographs.
5. Evidence of English language proficiency.

PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION

Once the Student Registration and Admission Office receives your application, we will promptly send you an acknowledgment email and begin processing your application.

Upon approval of your application, an offer letter will be extended to you. To confirm your enrollment at the university, promptly sign and return the Annex attached to the offer document, along with any required documents.

Once you accept our offer, we will promptly send you a Confirmation of Enrolment along with comprehensive details regarding your selected program. At this point, you must also make a partial payment of USD 1450 towards the tuition fee. The balance will be due upon your arrival in Seychelles during the registration process.

Once you receive confirmation of your enrollment, you can immediately proceed to apply for your student visa (Student Permit).

If we are unable to offer you a place in our program, we will notify you with a detailed explanation of the reasons. Additionally, we will offer guidance on any further qualifications you could pursue to meet our admission criteria or suggest alternative study programs that may align with your goals.

Entry is free and open to citizens from any country, but candidates must be either current high school or sixth-form college students, or recent graduates (Class of 2023) from Nigeria or Ghana. Applications are welcome from:

  • Final Year and Penultimate High School Students
  • Sixth-Form College Students
  • Recent High School and Sixth-Form College Graduates (Graduation Year 2023).

Accommodation

Your residence plays a crucial role in shaping your UniSey experience. UniSey offers three primary types of accommodation for students.

  • Choosing between living in a shared house or apartment with other students.
  • Living alone in your own house or apartment,
  • Or opting for a home-stay arrangement (where you have a room in a family’s house) are the main housing options available to students.

Once you confirm your enrollment in a UniSey program, we will promptly provide you with details on applying for accommodation in Seychelles. Please download the Accommodation Application Form. Upon receiving your completed application, the International Student Unit will diligently arrange accommodation based on your specified preferences.
